SharePoint 2013 Installation: Windows cannot find e:\prerequisiteinstaller.exe

I recently installed SharePoint 2013 on a Windows Server 2012 development environment. I simply mounted an ISO to create a virtual drive. The installation was successful, but now every time I log into the server, I get the following error:

Windows cannot find e:\prerequisiteinstaller.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

For some reason it seems to be looping the SharePoint 2013 prerequisite installation.

I did a little research and discovered that the installation actually added a start-up task for the prerequisite installation, which did not get removed.

To delete the start-up task, hit your WINDOWS-R and enter the following into the Run command: %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You should see a CMD extension item that starts with SharePointServerPreparationToolStartup.

Simply delete it. No more annoying popups!
